We’re veterans and car people from the Birmingham area. Every Memorial Day weekend we take the high banks at Talladega Superspeedway, and every dollar from those laps goes to Alabama veterans and their families.

Who we are

Service doesn't end at discharge.

Hendrick Driven for Veterans started with a handful of Corvette owners who wanted to do more than say thank you. Today it’s a registered 501(c)(3) run by volunteers, many of them veterans themselves, with Hendrick Chevrolet Hoover in our corner.

We raise money through events people actually look forward to, then put it where it helps: grants to vetted veterans in need and support for the Alabama organizations already doing good work on the ground.

Our signature event

Five laps on the high banks of Talladega.

Every Memorial Day weekend, drivers from across the Southeast line up in the infield, follow the pace car onto the 2.66-mile tri-oval and run five laps on 33-degree banking. Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, the family SUV: if it’s street legal, bring it.

Where the money goes

Raised at the track. Spent close to home.

The money raised goes back out to veterans here in Alabama, through direct grants and through partners we know and trust.

Grants

Help for veterans in need

Veterans, active-duty members and their families can request help directly. Each request is vetted, and documentation such as a DD-214 may be requested.

Folds of Honor

Our Patriot Shootout golf events have supported Folds of Honor, which funds scholarships for the spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members.

Since 2016 the dealership has paid the full Talladega rental, more than $11,000 a year, so 100% of every session fee goes to veterans.
